Focus Arrow - Hold cursor on the arrow to slide up and down the left edge of the prompter screen. Drop-Down HiWire Prompter> Settings To customize size, color, or option not to use the arrow. Also in settings is the option to have an alternate color to toggle between if the operator needs to signal the speaker without audio cues. This is the starting point- Click next to the Artist field. Enter Catalog Title - Artist/Cover Songs/Speeches/ Medlye's/etc Drag and drop TXT,RTF,DOC, DOCX files into the Catalog field. To Delete Files - Click on file to highlight then click the "-" button at the lower left of that field. Search Filter - Option to search by title or by included text (if you don't have the title) If the singer starts a song you can search by text and this field willl display all files that include the words entered. BUILDING SETLISTS Click under setlist field to create a name. Either drag and drop files from the Catalog field into the Setlist field. Or Highlight the desired file and enter CMD+D. To Delete Files - Click on file to highlight then click the "-" button at the lower left of that field. Use "+" to add files to the SETLIST "-" to delete highlighted files EDITING WORK AREA SMPTE OPERATION Once an audio interface is connected to the computer and signal is being sent click on SYNC to bring up the Timecode display on the panel next to this button. After SYNC is activated and signal is confirmed in the center panel click on TIMELINE to bring up lyrics and timecode values to begin programming. To START SCROLLING- If the keyboard symbol next to the START button is RED then click on the symbol to activate (Will turn GREEN). Click START to begin scrolling. Speed 1-9 1 - Slowest 9 - Fastest 0 - STOP SPACEBAR- START/STOP Can program these values into peripherals. Contour Shuttles, Numeric Keypads, etc SPEED CONTROL SLIDER- Shows the current scrolling speed. Useful if you used a high speed at the end of a song and left the speed at 8-9 at the beginning of the next song. So you don't jump past lyrics by accident at the top of a song. These button are fairly self explanatory. SETTING MARKERS- in the Edit window (right panel) click on the line number corresponding to the line you wish to place a marker. To Remove marker - click on the existing marker. Add a Footer column across the bottom to display information without blocking the exiting scrolling text. Options include: Elapsed time Countdown time BPM light City/Venue Information A discreet way to relay information to the artist during the performance. A/B SWITCHING - Created for a specific situation. If the artist unexpectedly transitions from the current song into a different file. You can hit B and find the song they now playing. When the artists transitions back you click A and they return to the exact spot that they were at before the transition. STANDBY- Activate if you need to work on the computer and don't want the images displayed on the external screen BUT you want to see the Focus Arrow. TO MONITOR- When "Auto" is highlighted everything in the center screen is displayed on the external monitor. Turn off to make an edit in the current file without the image change on the external display. Then reactivate the To Monitor when the edit is completed. MOVE TO LINE- When activated the center panel will track to the corresponding line the cursor is located on the EDIT PANEL. LINE SPACING- Changes line spacing for the entire file. If you want to scroll line by line. To see all markers set on the current file. This is helpful if a speaker has a longer script and you need to navigate to a corresponding section instantly. NEW FILE For pasting sections that may be needed but don't need in the current script. Saves with the clipboard. highlight section and hit this button and it will be saved to clipboard. Clipboard to see all the saved "snippets". EXPAND EDIT WINDOW- Activate to display the EDIT window as Full Screen. BLANKING - When you need to make edits or work on the computer and don't want to images to be displayed on the external monitor(s). External displays may go to sleep , or shut off, if a signal is not detected after a set amount of time, so BLANKING will send signal , but not image. F button- If you want to blank the external monitors but display the Footer (City name, etc.). MONITOR- If OFF then the computer is either disconnected from an external display or there is signal loss. The Setting button will show which display the computer/HWP detects. HWP saves the last resolution used when plugged in and HWP was used. This is helpful if you need to create/edit files while disconnected and need to keep file alignment. i.e. Files with chords and lyrics. PRIOR TO HWP I've suffered the pain of spending hours lining up chords above the corresponding lyrics and then once I plugged the computer into the display on site everything became scrambled. EDIT BUTTON- Activate to make edits in the file currently in the edit panel. Click again to deactivate EDIT mode. FULL SCREEN- Expands the center prompting display to FULL SCREEN.
